Gas Line Services for New Jersey Homes

Gas piping is one job where shortcuts show up later. An undersized line starves a furnace or generator, an unbonded CSST run is a lightning risk, and a fitting that was never pressure tested is a leak waiting to happen. Our licensed technicians handle the whole job, from the permit to the final inspection.

  • New Gas Line Installation - Lines run from your meter to a range, dryer, water heater, furnace, boiler, generator, pool heater, grill, fire pit, or garage heater, sized for the full BTU load.
  • Gas Leak Repair - We find the leak with electronic detection and soap testing, replace the corroded fitting or damaged section, then retest the whole line before the gas goes back on.
  • Relocation & Extension - Moving the range in a kitchen remodel, extending a line to an outdoor kitchen, or adding capacity for a standby generator without disturbing what already works.
  • Appliance Hookups & Conversions - Connecting new gas appliances, electric to gas swaps, and oil to gas heating conversions with new supply piping.
  • Pressure Testing, Permits & Inspection - Every new or repaired line holds a documented pressure test, and we schedule the municipal inspection so the paperwork is done when we leave.

what we run gas lines for

From the Kitchen to the Backyard

If it burns natural gas, we can pipe it. Every line gets a shutoff valve at the appliance and a connector rated for gas.

Ranges & Cooktops

Dedicated lines for gas ranges, cooktops, and wall ovens, including electric to gas kitchen conversions.

Clothes Dryers

Laundry room hookups with a proper shutoff valve and a flexible connector rated for gas.

Standby Generators

High-capacity runs sized for whole-home generators, with the meter upgrade coordinated when needed.

Pool & Spa Heaters

Long outdoor runs to pool heaters and spas, trenched, sleeved, and buried to code.

Grills & Outdoor Kitchens

Built-in grills, side burners, and outdoor kitchens with a quick-connect, so the propane tank goes away for good.

Fire Pits & Fireplaces

Gas fire pits, fire tables, and fireplace inserts with a key valve where you want it.

Water Heaters, Furnaces & Boilers

Supply lines for new or relocated heating equipment, including tankless water heaters that need a larger line.

Garage & Patio Heaters

Unit heaters for garages and workshops, and mounted patio heaters for three-season spaces.

Signs of a Gas Line Problem

Gas leaks rarely announce themselves with one big event. Watch for the small tells.

  • Rotten egg or sulfur smell near an appliance or along a line
  • Hissing or whistling sound from a pipe, fitting, or meter
  • Appliance flames burning yellow or orange instead of blue
  • Pilot lights that keep going out
  • A dead patch of grass or a bubbling puddle over a buried line
  • Higher gas bills with no change in use
  • Headaches, dizziness, or nausea that clear up outside
  • Visible rust, scale, or corrosion on exposed piping
  • Appliances that cycle off or never reach temperature

Leaks at the meter or in the utility's line are the gas company's job. Everything after the meter is ours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gas Line Installation & Repair FAQs

Straight answers on permits, cost, timing, and safety for gas line work in New Jersey.

Do I need a permit to install a gas line in New Jersey?

Yes. New gas piping, extensions, and most repairs require a permit and an inspection under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. We pull the permit, perform the required pressure test, and meet the inspector, so the work is documented and legal.

How much does gas line installation cost?

It depends on the length of the run, the pipe size, how hard the route is to access, and how many appliances share the line. A short run to a stove or dryer sits at the low end. A long buried run to a pool heater or a large generator line costs more, and a meter upgrade from the utility can add to it. We give you a firm price after a site visit, with no surprises.

How long does the work take?

Most single-appliance hookups and short extensions are finished in a day. Long outdoor runs that need trenching, or jobs that wait on a utility meter upgrade, take longer. We give you the schedule before we start.

Can you run a gas line to a generator, grill, or pool heater?

Yes. Outdoor runs are some of our most common jobs. We size the line for the appliance's BTU rating, bury and sleeve it to code, and put the shutoff where you can reach it.

Black iron or CSST, which is better?

Both are approved in New Jersey. Black iron is rigid and durable for exposed basement runs. CSST, the yellow flexible tubing, snakes through finished spaces with fewer joints but must be properly bonded to the electrical system. We choose based on the route, and we bond every CSST run.

Will my gas meter handle another appliance?

Not always. A standby generator or a pool heater can push a home past the meter's capacity. We total the load of everything on the line and coordinate with your utility for a larger meter if the numbers call for it.

Do you repair gas leaks the same day?

Yes. Gas leak repair is an emergency call and we respond 24/7. Leave the house and call your gas utility first so they can shut off the supply, then call 888-578-2776 and we will repair the line and retest it.
